Planting Instructions:

Soil Preparation:

Remove weeds, large rocks, and litter from the planting area. Till the soil 8-10 inches deep and rake several times to break up large clods. It is best to do this when the soil is dry enough to not stick to garden tools. Loosening the soil will help the plant establish strong roots.

Planting:

Seeds require warm-cold stratification. Soak seeds in room-temperature tap water for 3 days, changing the water daily. Then stratify; sow seeds in a flat with moist, fertile potting soil. Leave flat outdoors for 90 days of summer (70F-80) and 90 days of winter (or place in fridge at 40F if not cold enough). May mulch to keep moist. Seeds may germinate in 1 year; the following summer.
