Gloriosa Daisy comes in shades of yellow, orange, red, and mahogany, many are two-toned with a dark brown or black center. Compared to Black-Eyed Susan, Gloriosa Daisy grows larger blooms at about 4-5 inches wide. The name Gloriosa Daisy comes from the Latin word gloriosus meaning glorious. Soil Preparation:
Remove weeds, large rocks, and litter from the planting area. Till the soil 8-10 inches deep and rake several times to break up large clods. It is best to do this when the soil is dry enough to not stick to garden tools. Loosening the soil will help the plant establish strong roots.Planting:
Start indoors 6-8 weeks before the last average frost date in Spring. Transplant, or direct sow seeds, to a permanent location in Spring after the ground has thawed and all danger of frost has passed. For Fall planting, direct sow in late Fall before the ground freezes. Keep soil moist. Blooms the first year. Perennial.
