10 "GARDENER'S FAVORITES" SEEDS COMBINATION PACK:

1. Rutgers Tomato (100+)

Rutgers Tomato used to be the most popular tomato variety in the world! It was a staple ingredient in Campbell's soups and Hunt's and Heinz' ketchup for its superior flavor. Also known as the "Jersey Tomato" or the "Rutgers Select," Rutgers was developed in Rutgers University and was popular around the nation until an era of mechanized farming preferred breeding tomatoes with high durability over flavor. Rutgers Tomato produces a high-acid, high-sugar, intensely-flavored, deeply red colored, thin-skinned fruit weighting 8-12 ounces and excels in roasting, pureeing, slicing, or canning.

2. Top Crop Green Bean (30+)

Top Crop green bean is an AAS Award-winning variety of green bean developed to be disease-resistant, particularly to bean mosaic virus. This low-maintenance variety easily grows a heavily concentrated set of 6-7 inch long, stringless, round beans.

3. Bloomsdale Spinach (200+)

Bloomsdale Spinach is a classic reliable spinach with dark-green, thickly crinkled leaves. Slow-bolting and tolerant of high heat, a preferred variety among farmers. An excellent source of Niacin and Zinc, and a very good source of Dietary Fiber, Protein, Vitamin A, Vitamin C, Vitamin E, Vitamin K, folic acid, iron, and calcium.

4. Green Arrow Shelling Pea (30+)

Green Arrow Pea is a shelling pea variety, which means its pods should be allowed to grow to maturity before being harvested, then the shells should be removed and only the peas inside eaten. At their biggest, these pods grow to about 5 inches (13 cm.) in length, with 10 to 11 peas inside.

5. Scarlet Nantes Carrot (500+)

The Nantes carrot was developed in the 1850's, named after the largest city in Brittany, France. It was described as having a near perfect cylindrical root with smooth skin and entirely edible near-red flesh, both sweet and mild in flavor. The Scarlet Nantes is an even sweeter, crispier variety of the Nantes carrot. Scarlet Nantes carrot is delicious roasted or glazed, pureed for soups and desserts, or shredded for salads and slaws. A rich source of beta carotene, fiber, vitamin A, potassium, and antioxidants.

6. California Wonder 300 TMR Bell Pepper (100+)

California Wonder 300 TMR Bell Pepper is bigger, faster, stronger! The improved open-pollinated heirloom variety of the industry favorite California Wonder!  This variety produces a 4.5 inch-long large thick-walled, tender, and flavorful pepper that is perfect for slicing and stuffing. Try it sliced or grilled, and in vegetable trays, salads, stuffed peppers, and baked dishes. A rich source of Vitamin C. Like most peppers, the fruit starts green and ripens to red if left on longer.

7. Buttercrunch Butterhead Lettuce (500+)

Buttercrunch Butterhead Lettuce is a Bibb-type lettuce made an All-American classic for its luscious, "buttery" feel and crisp, juicy texture. Butterhead Lettuce grows into a large loose-leaved head with a smooth, even green color. The thick sweet leaves make Buttercrunch lettuce excellent for salads, sandwiches, and wraps. A very good source of fiber, vitamin A, vitamin K, and folate.

8. Detroit Dark Red Beet (100+)

Detroit Dark Red Beets are delicious dark red beets with sweet flesh and an earthy taste! Detroit Dark Red grows succulent 3-inch globe beets that are perfect for snacking, slicing in sandwiches, pickling, or pureeing for soups, smoothies, hummus, and sauces. Beet greens and microgreens can be added to salads or used as garnishes. Both the roots and greens are nutritious - rich in vitamins C, A, and fiber.

9. Clemson Spineless Okra (100+)

Clemson Spineless Okra is a flowering plant known for its satisfying crunch, and edible seed pods covered in natural juices with a distinct smooth mouthfeel. (We also offer the Red Burgundy Okra in our store for the bright red variety of okra). A mandatory ingredient in gumbo, it has deep traditional roots in many southern and African cuisines in part by its introduction in the Southern TomorrowSeeds through the slave trade in the 1500s. It's cultivated in warm and tropical climates, in part by its origins in Africa and South Asia. It is an excellent source of minerals, vitamins, antioxidants, and fiber.

10. Black Beauty Zucchini (20+)

Black Beauty Zucchini Squash is a 1957 All-America Selections winner, this early and prolific heirloom variety has been exceedingly popular to home gardeners not only for its very dark green skin and creamy white flesh, but its prolific and reliable growth.
