Lanceleaf Coreopsis is a hardy perennial wildflower planted for its showy bright-yellow, daisy-like blooms and attractive lance-shaped leaves. These flowers were so often planted for beautification in along Florida's roadsides that they were designated as Florida's State Wildflower. Blooming from late spring to early summer, Lanceleaf Coreopsis attracts pollinators such as bees and butterflies to their 1-2 inch-wide blooms from late spring to early summer. Coreopsis grow to a height of about 1 to 2 feet, making them an excellent choice for borders, wildflower gardens, and naturalized areas. Coreopsis can thrive even in poor soils and environments where the ground is rocky, gravelly, sandy, hot, and dry. As a native wildflower, it provides essential habitat and food sources for a variety of pollinators, contributing to the health and diversity of the environment.

Soil Preparation:
Remove weeds, large rocks, and litter from the planting area. Till the soil 10 - 12 inches deep and rake several times to break up large clods. It is best to do this when the soil is dry enough to not stick to garden tools. Loosening the soil will help the plant establish strong roots.Planting:
Plant in late Fall after a killing frost or early Spring before the last average frost date. If Spring-planting after frost, cold-stratify seeds by mixing seeds with moist soil or sand in a resealable bag and place in the refrigerator for at least 4 weeks before direct sowing. Add 1/2" - 3/4" layer of peat moss, sawdust, or potting soil to top of a mostly sunny and clear area. Broadcast seeds then water to push seeds into area. Keep moist until established.
