Knuckle Purple Hull Cowpea

Knuckle Purplehull Cowpeas are big, brown, and knobby like knuckles! Tightly packed together in deep purple pods, the shape, texture, and delicate flavor are what make these brown crowder peas a sweetheart of the south. This heavy producer will have 2-3 heavy flushes of 8-9-inch-long pod sets containing 14-16 light green cowpeas that turn coffee-colored when cooked or dried. This variety is excellent for freezing and shipping.

Planting Instructions:

Soak overnight in warm water for 8-12 hours, no more than 24-hours. Plant 1 inch in soil after danger of frost has passed in Spring whenever air temperatures are reliably above 70F and soil temperatures are above 60F.
