Calabrese broccoli, named after it's origins in Calabria, Italy, is the most common variety of broccoli in the United States. Calabrese broccoli are a garden standard, excellent boiled, steamed or stir-fried. Plant in succession for a continual harvest from summer into autumn. Once the main sphere is harvested, smaller side shoots will develop, producing a second crop. Nutrient-rich in vitamins A, C, E, K and folic acid.
