The Ground Cherry plant, also known as dwarf cape gooseberry, physalis ,and strawberry tomato, produces masses of small, yellow, sweet, tropical-flavored berries. The berries grow inside a papery husk and looks like a small, orange tomatillo. The taste is uniquely sweet and a little tart, like a mixture of pineapple, strawberry, and green grapes, and the texture is a cross between a grape and a cherry tomato. Their name comes from an indicator of when they're ripe - when the fruit falls to the ground.
