Thai Basil is a tropical basil widely used in southern Asia and is a staple in Vietnamese cuisine for its assertive taste, which is slightly spicy and often compared to anise, the flavoring associated with black licorice. Add Thai basil, whole leaves or chopped to chicken, seafood, noodle soups, or salad dressings, or to make traditional Thai dishes such as Pad Krapow and Thai curries. Thai Basil plants can grow up to 3 feet and can withstand hot, tropical climates. They can be grown in containers indoors or directly sown outdoors for a lush, aromatic display and touch of Thai charm in your home.
Also Known As: Horapha, Bai Horapha, Sweet Basil, Asian Basil, Bai Krapao, Bai Gaprao, Holy Basil, Lemon Basil, Spicy Basil, Bai Pad Horapha.

Planting Instructions:
Soil Preparation:
Remove weeds, large rocks, and litter from the planting area. Till the soil 8-10 inches deep and rake several times to break up large clods. It is best to do this when the soil is dry enough to not stick to garden tools. Loosening the soil will help the plant establish strong roots.Planting:
Optionally, start indoors in containers 4-6 weeks before last frost. Keep seedlings >70F. Harden off then transplant to, or sow, in fertile, moist, well-draining soil in full sun after all frost passes in Spring. Keep moist.
