Green Leaf Thai Holy Basil
Green Leaf Thai Holy Basil is a wonderful strongly scented herb with lavender flowers and beautiful slightly toothed, oval-shaped, petioled leaves. It has a mild licorice or anise smell, making it perfect for most Asian dishes. It is a highly valued ingredient for its wide medicinal "holy" properties in Hindu culture and in cultures across Southeastern Asia. Holy Basil is an integral ingredient in Thai Holy Basil Chicken (Pad Kra Pow Gai) and many favorite Thai dishes. Holy Basil grows 12-24 inch-tall subshrubs with hairy stems and 2-inch long blades. Excellent as a border plant or in pots and containers.
