Sugar Beets are delicious sweet, white conical beets the size of russet potatoes! They are a natural source of sugar and even used as the world's second biggest source of sugar, next to sugar cane. Sugar beets are excellent pickled, boiled, roasted, or steamed. Sugar Beet greens and microgreens can be added to salads or used as garnishes. Both the roots and greens are nutritious - rich in vitamins C, A, and fiber.

Planting Instructions:
Soil Preparation and Fertilizing:
Planting:
In southern states, beets can be grown all winter. Farther north, beets can be planted as soon as the soil can be worked in Spring. Soil temperature should be at least 40F for beet seeds to sprout. Use a hoe handle or stick to make a 1/2 inch furrow deep down the center of the ridge. Plant 1-2 seeds in the furrows spaced 1-2 inches apart within the rows. Cover lightly with loose soil then sprinkle with water. In hot weather, you may optionally cover seed with sands or light-colored mulch. You may make several plantings 3 weeks apart for a continuous supply of beets.Planting Depth: | 1/2 inch |
