About Dutch Tulips Bulbs: Dutch Tulip Bulbs are high-quality bulbs developed by Dutch horticulturalists and grown in the Netherlands, where they are the world's largest producer of tulips. Dutch Tulips bulbs, at about 10cm, are larger than average tulip bulbs and have been perfected to result in vibrant colors, large and lasting blooms, and strong, healthy plants that require little maintenance and bloom perennially.

Planting Instructions:
Soil Preparation:
Choose a clear area with loose, fertile, moist, well-draining soil in full sun or partial shade. Choose an area with heavy, well-draining soil that receives at least 6 hours of sunlight each day. Remove weeds, large rocks, and litter from the planting area. Till the soil 12 inches deep and rake several times to break up large clods. It is best to do this when the soil is dry enough to not stick to garden tools. Loosening the soil will help the plant establish strong roots. For best drainage, thoroughly mix top soil and organic matter such as compost, manure, peat moss, or saw dust. Optionally, add bulb fertilizer by digging a 12-inch deep planting hole and adding the fertilizer to the bottom of the hole and covering with 4 inches soil. Optionally, form rows of soil beds 4-6 inches high and at least 2 feet apart. This formation of ridges will help with drainage, ensure good airflow, and make harvesting for cut flowers easier.
Planting:
Plant tulip bulbs in the Fall when daytime temperatures are consistently at least 60F. Space bulbs 4-6 inches apart for individual tulips or 2-3 inches apart for bouquet planting groups and garden beds. Water the bulbs after planting. Allow at least 12-16 weeks of consistent greater than 50F temperatures in the Winter for tulip flower buds to produce. Tulips will bloom in mid-Spring.Planting Depth: | 6-8 inches |
Within-Row Spacing: | 4-6 inches |
Between-Row Spacing: | 2-3 feet |
Care During the Season:
Tulips require relatively low-maintenance care during the growing season. After planting in the fall, ensure they are watered thoroughly to help establish their roots before the ground freezes. Once they begin to emerge in early spring, water them moderately, aiming to keep the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged. As they bloom, it’s helpful to remove spent flowers by deadheading, which encourages better energy use for bulb health and future blooms. Leave the foliage intact after flowering, as it continues to photosynthesize and helps the bulb store energy for the next growing season.
